My last post on the NHS got me to thinking about barf bags. I suppose it was the references to blood spatter and mold in certain British hospitals. And at Behind Blue Lines we are nothing if not versatile – we can go from the serious to the utterly ridiculous in less time than it takes to cough up a bad oyster.
Apparently, Virgin Atlantic Airlines has also given a good deal of thought to barf bags. Several years ago, the airline decided to festoon its own bags with the winners of an international barf bag art competition sponsored by a website called “Design for Chunks”. Lest you think I’m making this up, here’s a news report on the subject.
Has anyone flown Virgin Atlantic lately? Is the airline still using the “artistic” barf bags – or was the one picturing a dog barfing over the line?
Is it just me, or does this “art” bear a strong resemblance to “art” by Peter Max?
