Back on Deck

in News, Politics

I’ve been contacted by several of BBL’s regular readers, wondering if we’d gone out of business. There have been no posts since September 3rd and the silence was apparently too much to bear. Rest assured all is well.

The silence is due to several factors. First, I have an active law practice to run and I’ve been quite busy the last ten days with urgent matters that required my attention.

Second – and important to Maine’s future – the TABOR (Taxpayer Bill of Rights) campaign has gone into overdrive now that Labor Day is behind us. Those of you who follow this blog know that I’m state chairman of the new referendum effort. Last week was very busy with press calls and writing on my Chairman’s Blog at the TABORNOW website. Because there’s only one of me, it’s a bit hard to cover both beats at once.

Because Maine’s campaign is attracting national attention (more on this tomorrow), I’ll be cross-posting my TABOR blog posts as well in the fond hope that my blogging compatriots on the right will give our effort a good look. Who knows – perhaps someone will take pity and drop some money on us. Lord knows we could use it.

Please stay tuned both for the usual commentary from myself, Scott and Roy as well as TABOR news. What we’re up against here in Maine is a microcosm of the nation – we’re opposed by the usual suspects: the SEIU, NEA and the local affiliate of ACORN/USAction.

It’s going to be fun dismembering the opposition.
