A Motivational Speech

Following up on my last post (“Why the Iraqis Still Fight Like Arabs”), here’s a video of a young American army officer giving a motivational talk to a platoon of Iraqi police. Time and place is unknown, although from the references to the Mahdi Militia and Sunni insurgents, these are probably Shia policemen in a somewhat mixed area.

The Iraqi police forces have been and continue to be the weakest link in a weak security force. They are notoriously corrupt and tend to work both sides: police by day and insurgents by night. The American officer knows it and the police know it – and the officer isn’t having any.

WARNING: EXTREME LANGUAGE AND ABUSE ALERT

I somehow doubt that the police situation has improved over the Surge.
