The Democrats appear to have so many plants in the audience at their health care “town halls” that they should rename these events the “Healthcare Greenhouse Tour” (note: I stole this idea from the internet somewhere, so I’m happy to give credit where credit is due, but the term may be organic (pun intended).
Anyway, I think my favorite plant so far is Dr. Roxana Mayer, who declared at a Sheila Jackson Lee Greenhouse event, “I don’t know what there is in the bill that creates such panic.”
There is just one problem.
Ms. Mayer is not a doctor.
I believe the scientific plant name for Ms. Mayer would be docere fictus.
The folks over at Lone Star Times have done a great job in debunking this latest plant at the Greenhouse Healthcare Tour. And over at Patterico’s Pontifications they manage to engage the aspiring town hall doctor in a brief email exchange.
It seems appropriate to say something like, “Sheesh, you just can’t make this stuff up!”
Apparently, you can.
Docere fictus joins a growing list of newly discovered plants, including liber falsus – found in the coastal regions of New Hampshire. In fact, Michelle Malkin has a great collection of new plant varieties.
Incidentally, for you aspiring botanists, the folks at Fishygate.com have a nice collection of video links and news stories on the Greenhouse tour. Take a gander – perhaps you’ll be able to make your own new plant discovery
