Memo to conventional media: why even pretend to be objective? Take Linda Douglass, for example.
After being ABC’s Congressional correspondent for many years, Linda’s become chief flakette at the White House Health Reform Office.
Here’s what she said when she took the job. From a May 21 LA Times story entitled, “Linda Douglass, well-known journalist, becomes a partisan”:
Douglass, who served as ABC’s chief congressional correspondent for several years earlier this decade, had this to say about her switch:
“I see this as a moment of transformational change in the country and I have spent my lifetime sitting on the sidelines watching people attempt to make change. I just decided that I can’t sit on the sidelines anymore.”
Let’s deconstruct this a bit. She bought the whole “transformational” blather from Hope ‘n Change. That’s hardly surprising. She part of the echo chamber.
She also admits that she wants to be part of the story instead of simply exercising some professional distance and dispassion. Like every bubble head, she says she want “change” but doesn’t define the term.
But there are clues about her definition of “change”. Look at her recent video encouraging ordinary people to snitch on their neighbors.
She directly attacks Drudge and a whole lot of people “with a computer and a lot of free time”.
Well, I have a computer – but not very much free time – and I’m able to recognize a “journalist” who was always a partisan and who’s able to move seamlessly from ABC News to the White House Snitch Office.
Change you can believe in.

Maybe they should get this sputtering economy going so we don’t have “Too much time on our hands”
I don’t want them to do anything with the economy – they’ve destroyed enough as it it.
