Politicians Feeling the Love on Health Care

I’m seeing something I’ve not seen in my lifetime: ordinary voters confronting their senators and reps over pending legislation, in this case ObamaCare. I credit the reaction to the effectiveness of the new media: talk radio, YouTube, Fox News and the all-important blogosphere. It’s a case where the voters know more about the details of the House health-care bill than their representatives, who seem to pull a “what me worry” act when confronted.

The politicians are feeling something – and it ain’t love.

Let’s take a look at the video. First, here’s Arlen Specter and Kathleen Sibelius at a meeting in Philly on August 1. As usual, Specter is as useless as tits on a bull. I don’t think Sebelius even knows what to say.

Then there’s Lloyd Doggett, whose Texas district includes deep-blue Travis County. This is taking place in Austin – home of the state capital, the University of Texas and an infinite variety of lefties.

Finally, there’s the ever-popular Keith Ellison of Minnesota, Calypso Louie Farrakhan’s man in Congress. You be the judge of the crowd’s reaction.

I’ll make a wager that this is only going to get worse – and I rather doubt anyone will bet against me.
