The Tax Man Cometh, and the Tax Man Taketh Away

First I would like to thank David for allowing me the opportunity to contribute to Behind Blue Lines which he has worked so hard to launch. Before becoming a contributor I followed BBL on a daily basis almost since its inception. I can only aspire to be as witty and insightful as David’s posts have been.

To kick off my first post, I thought I would stick to the subject most dear to my heart (and source of income): TAXES! Or more specifically, I am a dismal economist who specializes in tax policy. While most folks rank doing their taxes somewhere above having a root canal; don’t fear, the video below shows that even tax policy can be funny – it’s Turbotax to the rescue!

Also, if you are not familiar with Remy, do check out his website. It’s worth the trip.

Crocker adds: A hearty welcome to Scott. Perhaps we should email Remy’s link to Tim Geithner. I hear he swears by Turbotax. As an aside, I sent in my quarterly tax payment to the IRS on June 15, the destination being the IRS processing center in Hartford, CT. It wasn’t until today – July 10th – that the check cleared. Small wonder we’re in such trouble.
