The income tax is a form of ritual abuse, bequeathed to us by leftists (‘progressives’) in 1913 to ‘fairness‘ their class enemies – meaning anyone with two shekels more than they had. So thanks to their corrupting envy we now go through an elaborate ritual every year to find out the amount of tribute we have to pay. Think of it as an offer you can’t refuse. If you don’t pay, you go to jail, the Man confiscates your property and your family’s out on the street. Leftists call it a ‘contribution’.
Now, rational people would ordinarily find no reason to give thanks for a system where working people are forced to pay other people not to work. But the same ilk who facilitate the abuse also expect us to give thanks for it. Think of it as Stockholm Syndrome for the working man. Giving thanks is, after all, part of the ritual.
Which brings me to the ‘Alliance for a Better Minnesota’, a coalition of people who’ve figured out how to live off other people. Every community is afflicted with similar groups, but the folks in Minnesota have a certain panache. They’ve started a ‘Thank You Taxes’ campaign page to allow abuse survivors to re-live their experience over and over again.
Sort of like, ‘Thank you, sir, may I have another?’.
Think about it when you’re writing those checks next week.
