Auto Bailout: It’s Now Up to the Senate

Democrats in the House (with the help of 32 Republicans, geniuses all) voted to turn the Detroit Big Three into wards of the state.  Michelle Malkin names names.  I expect this sort of thing from Democrats.  From Republicans, I don’t.

I’m even more disgusted with the Bush Administration. According to reports, both the White House and Cheney’s office have been putting the clamp on Senate Republicans to go along with this monstrosity. Only a handful of Senate Republicans seem willing to ask logical questions about the planning, philosophy and advisability of this bailout.

From my rather icy perch here in Maine, I’m only hearing Dick Shelby, Jim DeMint, Tom Coburn, John Ensign and David Vitter. Is there anyone else who knows the difference between Shinola and that other stuff?

Meanwhile, RNC chair Mike Duncan has announced his reelection bid. This is the guy who was out-raised, out-thought and out-fought by the Dems in this cycle. Instead of reelection, how about a warm bath and an open vein? Speaking figuratively, of course.
