No Crying in Baseball

As we review the disappointing election results, there are some who might be tempted to despondency. But things always appear worse on the battlefield – even when you’re winning. I suspect that we may yet find much to be encouraged about, even in defeat.

I am not much for sniveling. If you’re beaten fair and square, then pick yourself up, learn from your mistakes and beat ‘em the next time. Radiate calm, confidence and, above all, good cheer. Even in defeat there’s opportunity.

And remember, there’s no crying in baseball.
